Your years of living dangerously? 10-Stems’ failure and death luck 十干败亡运

A special characteristic of Chinese metaphysics is using special terms involving gods, spirits, ghosts, devils, lust, indulgence, success, wealth, failure, deaths and the likes.  These terms could be anxiety-provoking if not pant-wetting to some people.  The following term could easily be included in the TOP-10 scariest terms in Bazi-–  “10-Stems’ failure and death luck (10-SFDL)”.  Here is what the ancient Bazi classic “San Meng Tong Hui” said about this 10-SFDL:

古书《三命通会》十干败亡运的口诀: 

甲申乙酉见阎王，丙子丁亥急切防，
庚辛巳午风中烛，戊寅己卯亦重伤，
壬辰戌兼癸丑未，未别浮生入鬼乡。  

The table below is a summary of the above poem/ code.  It also contains how to find this 10-SFDL.

How to read this chart:  For example, if your daymaster (DM) is Jia-wood,  there is NO yin– or mao-wood in the branch level of your chart and you run into a 10-year-luck with a shen branch,  you may meet your death or have major disasters/ misfortunes during this 10-year luck period.

“10-Stems’ failure and death luck” is based on the branch of a 10-year-luck controlling the daymaster (DM, chart owner).  The duration is 10 years and it will bring disasters, misfortunate and even death.

In general, we do not need to consider wealth/ power stars or chart profile/ structure when one enters this 10-SFDL.  Young people with strong DM can tide over this luck but could be dangerous or even life threatening for the over 60 age groups (Note: One major reason for this is that the 6th 10-year-luck of any person will fan-yin (attack) the month pillar).

The pre-requsites for this luck are:

• no root support or no peer star (bi-jian/ jie-cai) in the branch level
• DM is weak
• chart is not “follow the weakest” type

In simple Bazi terms, this luck refers to a weak DM running into power luck (zheng-guan/ qi-sha) will have serious problems.  Standard predictions would be lawsuits, career problems, losing wealth, sickness and accidents.  The term “10-Stems’ failure and death luck” is to get your attention and sell more adult diapers.

Besides, if a chart has resource (zheng-yin/ pian-yin) and/or output stars (shi-shen/ shang-guan), the damage could be reduced or even turn into major benefits.

When will your good wealth luck come?

When will your next good wealth luck arrive?  Your Bazi chart and its luck period data can shed some light.

Daily and personalized “Blessing, Celebration, Wealth and Nobleman Directions”

This is a simple “where to do/ find....” to maximize positive outcome– auspicious direction-selection method.  It helps you find :

1. Blessing God direction:  the direction to take for general blessing and positive outcomes
2. Celebration God direction:  the direction for happy and memorable occurences.
3. Wealth God direction:  the direction for material gains

AUSPICIOUS DIRECTION TABLE

Basically this has only 10 different combinations because there are only 10 heavenly stems.  For example, if you want to buy a lottery ticket in a Bing day, refer to the the “Bing” row and “Wealth God” column of the table above, you find “West“.  This means you go to the west side of your city or the west side of your home to buy your ticket.

DOUBLE THE STRENGTH USING YOUR PERSONALIZED DIRECTION

APPENDIX: FIND THE DAY STEM OR A PERSON’S DAYMASTER

EXAMPLE:  Find the day stem (or daymaster) of April 18, 2018. 11:31 AM.  Note: method for calculating day stem of a day and the “daymaster” of a person’s birth chart is identical.

1. Log into http://www.bazi-calculator.com
2. In the right-side of the screen panel box, select “Ken Lai Method“.  No need to bother with anything else.
3. Key in your birthday and hour in the left side of the screen.  Ignore the right side screen for “date to compare”.
4. Click the “calculate” box to get results.
5. Scroll down the screen and see this Bazi chart in the left side with a table similar to the one here.
6. The first box of second column (the one with “day master” in it) shows the day stem (or DM, day master) is Geng.
7. Check the table above and look for the “Geng” row for the auspicious directions for the day (4/18/2018).  If this is a birth chart, then it is for the person’s lifetime good directions.

Discover Your Lucky Elements Based on Life Experience

Below is a simple method of finding out your lucky elements and timing based on your life experience.  It is derived from Chinese 4-Pillars astrology.

1.  If your overall luck/ feeling is better in the first half than the second half of the year, your luck elements are likely wood and/ or fire.

2.  If your overall luck/ feeling is better in the second half than the first half of the year, your luck elements are likely metal and/ or water.

Note:  “Year” here is based on solar calendar which is about 1 month late than the western calendar.  First half of the year is around February to July.  Second half is around August to January.

3.  If your overall luck/ feeling is better in the early morning and before noon than afternoon and evening, your luck elements are likely wood and/ or fire.

4.  If your overall luck/ feeling is better in the afternoon than in the early morning and before noon, your luck elements are likely metal and/ or water.

HOW TO ENHANCE YOUR LUCK WITH THIS INFO?

I.  Wood and fire luck elements

• Lucky colors:  green, red, purple; avoid grey, gold, black and blue colors
• Lucky directions:  east, SE and south; avoid NW, west, and north
• Luck seasons:  spring and summer
• Lucky numbers:  3,8,2,7

II.  Metal and water luck elements

• Lucky colors:  grey, gold, black and blue; avoid red, purple and brown colors

Disney+’s Korean reality show “Battle of Fates” 《天机试炼场》

Intro:  The post below is taken from from my Bazi discussion group to show that I am still alive.  Current year of fire horse affects almost every earth citizen under the sun.  I hibernated for a few months.

This is a “Survivor” version reality show for fortune-tellers covering Tarot Cards, 4P, face/ foot/ bone reading, mediumship, shaman, psychic, name-reading, Yi-Jing, …. etc; with 49 fortune-tellers competing (like Japan’s “Iron Chef” 20+ years ago) for supreme.  This show is hot, especially in SE Asia.  Copycat shows with localized contents are produced in many Asian countries.

You can check reviews in YouTube by searching:  “Battle of Fates“.  But English reviews are briefer than Chinese (Mandarin) versions.  Chinese versions have episode by episode coverage in summary (so you don’t need to subscribe to Disney+ or wasting too much time watching the whole series).

Below is a 4P chart of someone who hit the lottery jackpot in one of the episodes.

“No” because we, as “ordinary people”, there is not much we can do to change or resist global or macro changes.  All we can do are sit tight and “hope for blessing 自求多福”.  “Blessing” or “Fuk 福” is a very low key request in Chinese.  It means “let one live his/ her life peacefully“.  There is even a “God of Blessing” to handle this job.

Hence, a modest request for “blessing” is much easier to get from the “God of Blessing” than asking for hitting the lottery jackpot.  From the deity’s perspective, any request that does little to change any destiny is easier to grant.  Believe me, deities are eager to please us mortals within their limits.

Below is a consecrated picture of “God of Blessing“.  You may print it out in ID card size and carry with you for protection,  put it where you spend long hours or put it in your altar for worshipping.

1.  You need one if you have the following Chinese zodiac birth animal signs:

a.  HORSE (years born: 1942, 1954, 1966, 1978, 1990, 2002, 2014)

— “Fu-yin” or same animal sign as Grand Duke; obstacles, stagnation or running “reverse” instead of forward and not suitable for travels 

— Penalizes Grand Duke; big fluctuations in luck, wealth, career, relationship and health; traffic accident, sickness, surgery, losing competitions/wealth, moving, death,  negative romance, quarrels and etc.

b.  RAT (years born: 1948, 1960, 1972, 1984, 1996, 2008, 2020) 

— Clashing Grand Duke; very serious; big fluctuations in luck, accident, sickness, surgery, losing competitions/wealth, moving, death, changing job

From right to left:  Year, Month, Day, Hour

— This person is in big trouble this year with 3 zi or rat branches because Grand Duke clashes 3 of  the 4 pillars and penalize the Chou hour pillar.  This could be major misfortunes or even death.

MEANING OF GRAND  DUKE CLASHING EACH PILLAR:

1. Year pillar:  you or your senior relative may have obstacles or misfortune
2. Month pillar:  your parents or siblings may have misfortune
3. Day pillar:  you or your spouse may have misfortune, divorce or even death
4. Hour pillar:  your children or younger relative may be in trouble

You are strongly recommended to get a GD talisman if you have a rat in any pillar in your natal chart, especially the day pillar (Jia-zi, Bing-zi, Wu-zi, Geng-zi and Ren-zi).  A MUST if you have Ren-zi or Geng-zi day pillar because both you and your spouse are in danger.

In addition, 2026 Bing-wu year is the strongest fire year.  Even charts that like fire may have problem with it.  Strong fire can destroy anything including water.  It is associated with serious illnesses like tumor and cancer.  Do medical check up if your chart already has too much fire and/ or chou, wei and xu earth.

Can “monetary losses” neutralize disasters? 破财消灾

After suffering monetary loss for whatever reason, some Chinese would self-comfort themselves by saying “losing money to neutralize disasters (破財消灾) “.  Some may say “Normalcy is restored when money is gone 財散人安樂”.

Could losing wealth really fend off disasters or is this simply a “method of spiritual victory” (aka “Spirit of Ah Q” in Chinese language)?  Is there any theory to support this claim? 

Actually, in terms of Bazi’s 5-elements Nurturing and Controlling theory using 10-transformation stars (“10-gods”), “losing money to neutralize disasters” is valid under the scenarios listed below.

However, one needs to understand the nurturing and controlling relationship between the 10-transformation stars to grasp the logic discussed below.

The following diagram summarizes this nurturing and controlling relationship:

Examples:  Output star nurtures (blue arrow) wealth star and controls (black arrow)  power star.  Wealth star nurtures power star and controls resource star.

I.  DAYMASTER (DM) USES SHI-SHEN AS PROTECTOR

“Daymaster” is the chart-owner.  Power stars (zheng-guan/ qi-sha) control or attack DM.  Hence power stars are the symbols for disasters and misfortune.  In Bazi, -output star or shi-shen controls power stars.  Ideally, -output star should have power stars under control to avoid disasters.   But if strong wealth stars show up, it will turn the whole chart upside down.  This is because output stars nurtures wealth stars and the latter in turn nurture power stars, making disasters (power stars) even stronger.  The -output protector becomes collaborator of the power star attacker!  Wealth stars become the mediator between -output and power stars and form an alliance to drain and control DM.  This means major disaster!

From the above analysis, disasters are attributed to strong wealth stars. If there are no strong wealth stars, disasters and misfortunes may not exist.  Wealth stars are represented by our cash and money reserves.  Hence, if DM can create “losing money” events (charity donation, buy real estate/ expensive items…)  to weaken his/her strong wealth stars to the point that wealth stars are not able to perform the mediating function, disasters are neutralized or at the least, minimized.

II.  DAYMASTER USES ZHENG-YIN/ PIAN-YIN AS PROTECTOR

Resource stars (zheng-yin/ pian-yin) nurtures DM.  Power star will attack DM if no mediator stands in-between them.  Resource stars protect DM from power stars by draining or as mediator between DM and power stars because power stars nurture resource stars.  Hence, resource stars play the role of mediator by turning power stars into collaborator to boost the strength of DM.

Wealth stars nurture power stars and control resource stars.  Hence when strong wealth stars show up in the system, they control and stop resource stars performing the mediator and protector functions.  Wealth stars further nurture and strengthen power stars to make the potential disasters more aggravating.

From the above analysis, disasters are attributed to strong wealth stars. If there is no strong wealth stars, disasters and misfortunes may be weak or not exist.  Hence, if DM weaken his/her strong wealth stars by “losing money” (buying real estate/ shopping spree, charity donation, and etc.)  to the point that these stars are no longer able to control or prevent resource star from performing the mediator and protector functions, disasters are averted or neutralized. 

III.  DAYMASTER USES BI-JIAN/ JIE-CAI AS PROTECTOR

Peer stars (bi-jian/ jie-cai) strengthen DM.  Power stars controls peer stars.  The act of controlling peer stars drains power star.  If peer stars are as strong as power stars,  the latter will be “tied up” and cannot attack DM.  

Peer stars controls wealth stars.  Wealth stars nurture power stars.  When strong wealth stars show up in the system, peer stars will be drained for attacking wealth stars.  Furthermore, wealth star will nurture power stars.  Consequently, power stars become more powerful whereas peer stars are weaker than before.  Peer stars become too weak to counter these power stars.  DM will lose the protection from peer stars and suffer the control or attack of the power stars.

Similar to the analyses of section I and II, all the problems are attributed to the appearance of wealth star.  The same “losing wealth” remedy should be used to eliminate or weaken wealth stars.

The difference between I and II situation is:  In the -output star scenario, wealth stars turn -output star into mediator to attack DM.  In the resource star scenario, wealth stars stop resource star from being a mediator and protector.  In the peer stars scenario,  wealth stars weaken the peer star protector and enhance the power star aggressor.

The best way of “losing wealth” is through charity donations because one can feel good and perhaps getting some karma credits for future good luck.

Annual Luck Pillar Secrets 流年斷事秘訣

In Bazi, “annual luck” means the prevailing dominant energies of current year.  For example,  2025 is Yi-si or wooden-snake year, the dominant energies are wood and fire.  Every person in the world is under the influence of this wood and fire energy in 2025.

However, these annual energies have different effects on the ten possible daymasters (DM).  For examples, wood energy is a power element to an earth DM,  wealth element to a metal DM, resource element to a fire DM and output element to a water DM and peer element to a wood DM.

Hence, to unlock the predictions about a new annual luck pillar for a person, the first step is to translate the pillar element (e.g., wood, fire, etc.) into transformation stars or “10-gods“.

The transformation star in the annual luck stem level indicates what will happen that is visible by the public.  It does not indicate positivity or negativity.  The branch level transformation star will reflect the auspiciousness or inauspiciousness of the likely event.

Generally speaking, if the annual luck branch is the favorable element (“useful element“) of the chart, this year will be good for the person.  If unfavorable, this year will be below average.

Annual luck focus is on the stem whereas 10-years-luck is on the branch for making predictions.  Annual luck is more critical because it is the “final mile” of luck delivery mechanism.  It is also seen as the “trigger” of the event, whether good or bad.

PREDICTIONS BASED ON ANNUAL LUCK STEM   

1.  When annual luck stem is peer star (bi-jian/ jie-cai) and is favorable, DM will get help from peers, coworkers, friends and sibling.  If unfavorable, DM will get lawsuit, lose wealth and bickering due to the same people above.  Also DM may jinx wife and/or father.

2.  When annual luck stem is resource star (zheng-yin/ pian-yin), DM will encounter events represented by resource star, such as study, work, reputation, documents/ contracts, housing, sickness, wealth luck and etc.

3.  When annual luck stem is wealth star (zheng-cai/ pian-cai), DM will see events represented by wealth star, such as money/ finance, wife, father, health (sickness/ injury), work, marital/ relationship problems.

4.  When annual luck stem is power star (zheng-guan/ qi-sha), DM will run into events represented by power star, such as superior/ boss, work, father, husband, career, reputation, legal matters, sickness, injury and etc.

5.  When annual luck stem is output star (shang-guan/ shi-shen), DM will handle events represented by output star, such as displaying of talents like dancing, performance, art exhibition, giving speeches, publishing; children, employees, investment, planning, illness/ injury, legal problems, sickness, injury and etc.

For more accurate predictions, the annual pillar should be read with the 10-year-luck pillar and natal chart together.
