This post is based on my past posts about “Grand Duke Talisman charity drive” with updates for 2023.
If you have read my old message about functions of Grand Duke, you know that there are two Grand Dukes watching over your shoulder, counting the good and bad deeds that you have done and executing rewards and misfortunes accordingly.
Our Grand Duke talismans are consecrated with the energy from Grand Duke and his mother
Dou-mou (mother or commander of 60 Grand Dukes). Hopefully, our talismans will motivate Grand Duke to be easy and generous on you when his mother is around him. Why do we ask for a charitable donation for this talisman? When your talisman is grounded with a charitable deed, GD is less likely to execute any misfortunes due from your karma account. The rationale for donation is an exchange of energy– using a charitable deed in exchange of protection energy from Grand Duke. One cannot get something out of nothing.
2023 GRAND DUKE GENERAL PI-SHI 癸卯太歲皮时
2023 is Gui-mao or year of water-rabbit. Grand Duke for the year is General Pi-shi who was a military commander in Northern Wei Dynasty (386- 535).
DO YOU NEED A 2023 GRAND DUKE TALISMAN?
For 2023, five groups of people need Grand Duke Talismans:
1. “Fu-yin” or same animal sign of Grand Duke 值太岁– people with rabbit sign
- Birth years: 1939, 1951, 1963, 1975, 1987, 1999, 2011
- Symptoms: obstacles, stagnation or running “reverse” instead of forward and not suitable for travels.
2. “Fan-yin” or “clashing” the animal sign of Grand Duke 冲太岁– people with rooster sign
- Birth years: 1945, 1957, 1969, 1981, 1993, 2005, 2017
- Symptoms: big fluctuations in luck, accident, sickness, surgery, losing competitions/wealth, moving, death, changing job
3. “Hai” or “harming” the animal sign of Grand Duke 害太岁– people with dragon sign
- Birth years: 1940, 1952, 1964, 1976, 1988, 2000, 2012
- Symptoms: interpersonal relationship problems, negative romance, marital problem, backstabbing
4. “Po” or “breaking” the animal sign of Grand Duke 破太岁– — people with horse sign
- Birth years: 1942, 1954, 1966, 1978, 1990, 2002, 2014
- Symptoms: backstabbing at work, over-consumption, no luck in non-regular income like gambling/ stock and success slips away in the last minute
5. “Xing” or “penalizing” the animal sign of Grand Duke 刑太岁—— people with rat sign
- Birth years: 1948, 1960, 1972, 1984, 1996, 2008, 2020
- Symptoms: big fluctuations in luck, wealth, career, relationship and health; traffic accident, sickness, surgery, losing competitions/wealth, moving, death, negative romance, quarrels and etc.
GRAND DUKE TALISMAN FOR FENG SHUI REMEDY
House violating Grand Duke
In 2023 Gui-mao year, if your house faces mao-rabbit mountain or E2 (82.5- 97.5 degree) direction, your house is said to be “violating Grand Duke.” House violating GD will affect the overall luck, health and well-being of the people living inside. The remedy is either avoiding movements, construction, earth-digging and demolition there or put up a Grand Duke talisman facing NE3 direction. The opposite side of Grand Duke is Year-breaker (Sui-po, W2 or You mountain). This location should avoid digging and activities too.
Even with the GD talisman, if you need to do construction, you still need to do a date-selection for an auspicious date and start digging on a non-GD direction and finish last on the GD direction.
Desk violating Grand Duke
If your desk or wherever you sit for an extended time faces Mao-rabbit mountain or E2 direction, you can put up a Grand Duke talisman there for protection. It is not auspicious to face the Grand Duke direction. It weakens your competition power in business/career and examinations. However, if you arrange your seat so that E2 will be at your back (and put a Grand Duke talisman there), you will get Grand Duke as support and is good for competition and business.
GRAND DUKE TALISMAN OFFER
This year we use digital delivery of Grand Duke Talismans because “snail mail” is slow and prone to losses. Ken Lai will create a GD Talisman, blessed and “activated” on screen digitally. This activated GD file will be emailed to you with notes. You can print as many copies as you want (but for one unique-named person only). In this way, you can replace soiled or damaged talismans. You can carry one talisman in your wallet and post one in your home and/or office for Feng Shui remedy. You get more “mileage” from a single donation this way. If you are worried about privacy issues and future solicitations– please be assured that no future solicitation or email will be sent to you in the future. You send me NO money. You send your donation directly to your favorite local or international charity. No purchase involved. This offer is for people who have no access to Daoist temples. Please support your local temple if you have access to one.

NO MONEY? NO PROBLEM
Simply perform an act of kindness like visit a senior citizen, feed a homeless animal, buy a meal for the hungry, tutor a needy student– any help or emotional support to all living being and the like can be a substitute of a monetary donation. Email me what you have done (great if you show photo, but not compulsory) and I shall email you the talisman.
Talisman that is grounded with a charitable event works more effectively because it has an exchange of one type of energy for protection energy.

2018 is Wu-xu or year of earth-dog. Grand Duke for the year is General Jiang Wu who was a military officer in 16th century Ming Dynasty. Jiang had passed his Imperial military officer exam in 1622 and became an officer renowned for neutralizing banditry. In 1642, he was ordered to rescue the embattled and besieged national army in Kaifeng City of Henan Province. General Jiang had refused to retreat when cohort armies were defeated and escaped. He had kept on fighting and terminating many bandit soldiers until he himself was killed. He was awarded “róng lù dà fū” (榮祿大夫, similar to western knighthood) posthumously which was inheritable by his descendants.
Here is one spiritual remedy for people with rabbit clashing rooster or house clashing Grand Duke direction– Grand Duke talisman.
