The term “ghost-gate” (鬼门) exists long before the term “Feng Shui” was coined.  You can find this term in the ancient text of Yi-jing.

Ancient text claims that “ghost-gate” is in northeast or Gen trigram, where spirits or ghosts entering or leaving.  Ancient people like to build temples on this location to facilitate spiritual communications.

Modern views do not think ghost-gate is really ghost-ridden, but the energy here is very “yin“.

There are two types of ghost-gate line.  The line at the center of northeast region (Gen trigram) is called “outward ghost-gate line表鬼门. The other one at the southwest (Kun trigram) is called “inner ghost-gate line里鬼门.

These two angles have the most “yin” energy within 360 degrees.

In terms of Feng Shui, doors, toilet seat, stove, fridge, air-conditioner, washing machine, hi-fi, TV, wealth position……, should not be placed on this ghost-gate line.  Inauspicious events or misfortune may happen if items with movements are placed on these ghost-gate lines.

Negative events will happen to male owner mostly if outward ghost-gate line is violated and to woman owner if inner ghost-gate line is provoked.

Negative effects will be more severe if main door sits on ghost-gate line.  It will be the worst if this door is also facing a T-junction or other form-sha energy like a “sickle sha” or “heart-piercing sha“.

Note:  I have just posted the following message in my “Advanced Visual Form Feng Shui” discussion list.

A 6-storeys tall building is near a flyover which is taller than the building in a Tai-yuan city, Shangxi Province of China.

A few days ago, within a few hours, the building becomes an 8-storeys building!

When look closer, the new “storeys” are spray-printed image of storeys on canvas on a metal frame.

The reason for this new addition is because numerous non-old-aged residents had died of cancer in last few years.  The residents suspect it has something to do with the flyover and seek the help of a Feng Shui master.

The master said the flyover is higher than the building and “suppresses” the blessing for the building.  He suggests making the building higher than the flyover as remedy.

After the “instant growth” of the new canvas “storeys“, the building is 10cm taller than the flyover.  70+ households in the building have paid for the expenses involved.

Do you think this remedy will work?  Will the fix make things better or worse? If you were the FS guy, what would you recommend instead?

hauntedA house is inauspicious or haunted if it has the following characteristics:

  1. There are two or more deaths or severe injuries in the family within 3 years of moving-in.– House like this usually has “sha-qi” (negative energy) like T-junction, sickle-cutting sha, heart-piercing sha or “white-tiger sha”.  These negative energies cause bloody events, backstabbing and disharmony .
  2. After moving in, family members have chronic headache, fevers or diarrhea.
  3. Family members suffer frequent misfortunes and bad lucks after moving in.
  4. Family members suddenly turn against each other after moving in.
  5. After moving in, family members suffer insomnia or dreaming of ghosts.
  6. Pets like cat and dog refuse to enter the new house or certain part of the house.
  7. Baby or toddler cries when entering the new house, especially at the evenings
  8. Barely perceptible smell of rotten material or foul smell (but cannot find the source)
  9. Small animals clashing into the house and died (excluding moths)
  10. Feeling chill inside the house even in summer.
  11. Family altar tablets (of ancestors or deity) fell down or cracked

Move away if this is your house.  The problem is that if you live in a house with these conditions, you are likely in a bad luck period and may end up in a much worse house.  Hence you should hire a Feng Shui practitioner with a proven track record to help you find another house.

If for any reason that you cannot move, as long as your problem is not due to #1 above, find a priest of your preferred religion and do a cleansing and blessing of your house (and hope the problems go away).

Recent news report that artist Prince’s prolonged hip problem may have contributed to his overdose on painkiller and untimely death.  Besides scientific explanations that human bones supposedly last around 50 years of wear and tear, I wonder if his hip problem has any correlation with the Feng Shui of his Paisley Park.

Although I have never visited Paisley Park, I can still check out its Feng Shui conditions by looking into the shapes of the building using Google Map over the internet.  This is done using Chinese Form Feng Shui.

From the notated diagram, we can see northwest corner of the building has a big “missing corner“.  But it is partially compensated with a fence.

Southeast side is also “missing” though the south and east are also partially missing.

In Chinese Feng Shui, each direction or sector represents certain people, events and objects.  The followings are a summary that is relevant to this article:

  • Northwest:  father, male owner of property, head, large intestine
  • Southwest: mother, abdomen, stomach
  • East: Elder son, feet, liver
  • Southeast:  elder daughter, buttock (hips), gallbladder
  • North:  middle son, ears, kidney
  • South:  middle daughter, eyes, heart
  • Northeast:  younger son, hands, spleen
  • West:  Younger daughter, mouth, lungs

According to Chinese Feng Shui, the missing corner of a house will affect the residents in terms of what the missing corner represents.  For example, Paisley Park has a missing southeast corner.  Southeast represents elder daughter (can also be wife of the house), buttock and gallbladder.  It implies that this house may not have daughter (or wife) or daughter does not like to stay home or she suffers illness or bad luck; resident may have buttock or gallbladder problems.  Prince has hip problem which fits the Feng Shui prediction.

Paisley Park’s northwest side is also missing but with a fence to fill the void. So the Feng Shui symptoms are not as evident.  Northwest also represents helpful people/ mentor, fame and wealth.  My humble opinion thinks Prince should have been more famous, wealthy and influential like Elvis.  Maybe this partially missing northwest corner is the culprit.

Besides the missing corners, the circular-shaped building at the right side of the main building has its share of tragic Feng Shui consequences.

In Form Feng Shui, this circular building is called a “sickle sha“.  It looks like the blade of a sickle (or a circular saw) cutting into the northeast and east side of the building.  Both northeast and east represent “son” in Feng Shui.  Prince had a son named Gregory who died a week after birth due to Pfeiffer syndrome in 1996, “a rare defect of the skull” (Is this due to missing northwest corner which represents head?) .  His wife had a miscarriage not long afterwards.

http://www.etonline.com/news/187302_exclusive_sheila_e_says_prince_was_always_pain/

prince-paisley-park-sickleEast also represents feet which is “cut” by this circular-shaped building– Prince had feet problem due to wearing high heeled shoes during performance and eventually causing hip problems.

There are more advanced Feng Shui and astrological explanations for Prince’s untimely death.  But it is too technical to present the details here.

Feng Shui dislikes missing corners in a property.  Make sure that northwest, southwest and northwest corners are not missing when you purchase a property.

RIP Prince

Before we begin, this message is not about the advantages and disadvantages or political correctness of  “cul-de-sac commune”  living. It simply examine the idea from Form Feng Shui perspective.culdesac_540

A “cul-de-sac commune” is formed when residents of a dead-end street with a cul-de-sac are joined together like the old co-op in the past, to share resources, friendship and services. For more info, check the following link:

http://www.npr.org/templates/story/story.php?storyId=102651496

Should you live in a”cul-de-sac commune”? It all depends on the location of your house in the street.

From Form Feng Shui perspective, houses located at a cul-de-sac endure a major Feng Shui sha or negative energy– the “sickle sha“. The curature of the cul-de-sac looks like a sickle cutting into the house. The negative effects of “sickle sha” are surgery or bloody accidents. There are Feng Shui formula used to calculate the most probably year of injury occurrence and who will get the injury (formula in my “Advanced Form Feng Shui” class).

House at a certain location on the cul-de-sac may suffer a negative energy called “White Tiger gives bouquet“– it stands for marital infidelity.

You may ask, “Ken, there are tons of cul-de-sacs in USA and do not seem to have these problems.”

This is exactly what I want you to ask! Cul-de-sac or dead-end street usually has less traffic, so the sha or negative energy is not “activated“– but not when you have a cul-de-sac commune! There will be increased auto and human traffic that make energy moving around more frequently and may activate the negative energy.

Now returning to the question of should you live in a “cul-de-sac commune”–it is OK to live in one if your house is not within the cul-de-sac.

If there any remedies or fixes for people who already live in the cul-de-sac? Yes, there are remedies in my “Advanced Form Feng Shui” course.
