handsome_manMy female students have been chasing me for the Bazi characteristics of “cute guys” for 10+ years because I have only told them the characteristics of beautiful women.

It is possible to guess the external appearance of someone by reading his or her birthday Bazi chart.  Below are the Bazi characteristics of cute or handsome guys (帅哥) in their natal charts.

1.  Presence of peach-blossom elements“Peach-blossom” elements are the “attraction index” in Bazi.  Zi (rat), wu (horse), mao (rabbit) and you (rooster) are the 4 peach-elements in Bazi.  People with these peach-blossom elements usually are attractive and sociable.

2.  Chart with metal and water mutual-nurturing  like 2 metal and 1 water elements or 1 metal and 2 water elements– the daymaster (DM) is likely to be intelligent,  have fair complexion and refined facial features.

3.  Chart with wood and fire mutual-nurturing— this DM is likely to be handsome (pretty if this is a woman) and intelligent.

4.  Chart with strong pian-cai (-wealth) elementspian-cai stands for lover/ mistress for male.  For example,  Jia and Yin-wood are the the pian-cai of a Geng-metal DM.  Men with strong pian-cai usually are attractive to opposite sex and look handsome.

5.  Chart with strong output stars (shang-guan/ shi-shen)– output stars stand talent and intelligence.  Men with strong output stars are usually sentimental, intelligent, romantic and accomplished.  People in the entertainment industries usually have strong output stars.

Actually, all the above characteristics except #4, are also predictors of pretty women!  You get a BOGO deal here.  This guide works for people with any sexual preference.

Pretty or not pretty, cute or not cute, are in the eyes of beholders.  It is not unusual to see “cute guys” pairing with “not so beautiful” girls or pretty girls with not so handsome dudes.  Assuming it is not due to “wealth factors“, it is usually the not so pretty/handsome party has numerous peach-blossom elements in his or her chart.

obese“First of all, we need to find out the major reason that people gain weight in terms of medicine and Chinese metaphysics. Simply put,  other than bad eating habit, junk food and life style choices, obesity is due to an individual has an efficient and overworked digestive system.  In terms of Bazi, if a person has strong earth element or strong shi-shen (-output) in his chart, he is likely to have an efficient digestive system or strong appetite.” taken from the Bonus Chapter, “Weight loss through Bazi and Feng Shui” in “Applied Bazi: Sickness Forecasting and Management” Video course.

In other words, besides eating habit and life style, whether one will be obese or not is also determined by his/ her Bazi natal chart.

Generally speaking, if your chart has “shi-shen” (-ouput), you have the potential of getting obese.  “Shi-shen” literally means “eating god” in Chinese.

shi_shen_obeseTo find if you have any shi-shen in your chart, simply go to bazi-calculator.com and key in your birthday.  First you find your day-master element (day column) and use it to check for shi-shen elements (in any column) in your chart.  The more shi-shen you have, the higher the potential of you getting obese.

Shi-shen is regarded as the “blessing god” for good appetite, self-indulgence in food and enjoying life.  Hence,  daymasters with strong shi-shen tend to get fat easily.

The location of shi-shen also affect the probability of getting obese.  The closer a shi-shen is near DM, the likely DM will get obese.  Shi-shen is closest to DM when it sits in day branch, month stem or hour stem.  Because month branch determines the temperature of the whole chart, so if shi-shen sits on day branch, it is also considered “near” the DM.

If shi-shen is not strong in the natal chart but luck period/s make/s it strong, DM may become obese during those luck period/s.

Besides output stars, one must also look at other elements in his/ her natal chart to make prediction on the possibility of obesity.  For example, if there is a resource star to control the output star, then the obesity may not happen or at least under control.  There are other factors affecting obesity like the presence or absence of peer and wealth stars.  It will take another article to explain.

0000_suicideWhat Bazi characteristics are found in people who are prone to depression, mental illness and suicide?  One major characteristic is wood element in one’s Bazi chart is over-controlled, over-nurtured, over-drained or overwhelmed.  Wood element represents the nervous system of a person.  The nervous system and mental ability of a person will be affected when some excessive actions happened to the wood element of his Bazi chart.

Below are Bazi variables that affect one’s tendency to be suicidal and depressive:

1. Weak daymaster (DM) with strong output and/ or power stars (Shi-shen/ Shang-guan and Zheng-guan/ qi-sha)– Daymaster with this condition is likely physically weak, lacking confidence and strong will.  Strong output stars means DM thinks too much.  Strong power stars also stand for pressure from government, superior or pressure to succeed in something (also men problems for women).

When a chart has both strong output and power stars,  DM may suffer cognitive dissonance or conflicting emotion.  S/he looks elegant and traditional externally, but inside s/he is wild and dislike restrictions.  When running into setback, s/he is likely feeling depressed. This condition is quite common,  like when a weak DM has one or two output and/or power stars in the natal chart and luck periods bring in two or more similar stars.  This DM may either go crazy or depressive and is easily agitated to do the unthinkable.

2. Chart with strong metal chopping wood— DM with weak Jia or Yi-wood usually has weak mental capacity to handle complicated life events.  If the weak wood is further controlled by strong mental, DM is prone to mental illness and even suicide.

3. Chart with strong fire burning wood— Wood produces fire.  If a DM runs into strong fire luck periods that drains wood, it may cause over-thinking and induces headache and nervous system related illness.  Some minor irritations or mishaps may drive DM into attempted suicide.

4. Chart with strong water floating wood— Water nurtures wood.  But too much water will float and rot wood, especially if there is little or no sunshine (fire) providing warmth and strong earth to anchor it.  DM with “strong water floating wood” in his chart is likely facing numerous ups and downs in life.  If such conditions last for extended periods, DM’s mental condition will deteriorate and prone to mental depression.

5. Chart with strong earth cracking wood— Wood controls earth.  But too much or strong earth can crack wood.  When wood “cracks” in a chart, it affects the mental conditions of DM.  DM may feel too much pressure and prone to mental illness and suicide.

0000_depressWhen you read chart with any of the above conditions, you should advice the DM to see a psychologist or at the least, tell him/ her “don’t think too much” and “everything will workout itself one way or another“.

With the prevalence of teen suicides in recent years, school counselors could use this Bazi knowledge to identify students with potential depression and suicidal tendency and take preventive measures.

Chart with one overwhelmingly strong or weak element usually signals major illness or negative condition in life.  To know more:

1b4P_health_title_screenNote:  Below is an excerpt from the reference manual of my upcoming video correspondence course “Applied Bazi:  Sickness Forecasting and Management“.

VENEREAL DISEASE AND BAZI

In Bazi, shang-guan (+output) relates to lust, sexual desire, indulgence, willfulness or “open minded”. Shang-guan (SG) also represents the genital of both male and female.

When shang-guan in a chart is clashed or penalized or hurt, it could mean venereal disease for the daymaster (DM).

If a chart does not have any shang-guan, shi-shen (SS or -output) will take its place.  If both SG and SS do not show up in a chart, look for the source of SG/SS– bi-jian or jie-cai (peer stars).  If none of the above shows up, day-branch will represent DM’s genital.  It also represents DM’s sex life, belief and behaviors.couple

Charts with the following characteristics are prone to venereal diseases (VD):

  1. Shang-guan (SG) is too strong or too weak

SG is too strong means daymaster (DM) has more love and sexual drive demands.  S/he may look for multiple partners and hence higher chance of getting VD.  Also SG too strong itself is a sign of illness.  SG too weak is likely to get VD infection– likely to happen when it is clashed or subdued by luck period.

  1. Unfavorable element (“annoying god”) sits on day-branch

This implies that DM’s body, especially the lower part or the genital, is prone to infection for male or gynecological sickness for female.

  1. Day-branch is clashed by an excessive strong element (aka “sickness god“)

This implies a potential sickness may happen in the lower part of DM’s body.  This sickness relates to the genital for male or gynecological sickness for female.  DM should be careful with his/ her sex life and partners.

  1. Output star/s are clashed or combined

DM with weak output star under this condition is prone to impotence. DM with strong output star under this condition has strong sexual energy.  The strength level of output star in a chart reflects the sexual prowess of a person.  Strong DM with strong output stars has strong sexual energy.  Weak DM with strong output stars has strong sexual desire but cannot “perform“.

  1.  Day-branch is too cold or too hot

Day branch is sat by fire and fire energy is too strong in chart (and no water to adjust temperature), DM is likely have problem in semen production and prone to flu/ cold or gynecological sickness or VD.

(There are 3 more characteristics not listed here but in the manual).
