poorPeople with “poor” profile Bazi charts usually work hard for money and live in challenging conditions.  If they run into accidental or unexpected wealth, they have problem keeping the wealth or even endangering their lives.  There are cases of poor people winning lottery and ended up poorer or even death.

Click the following link if you want to understand the Bazi/4P terminology used here as compared to yours:

http://kenlaifengshui.blogspot.com/2011/05/4p-bazi-terminology-conventions.html

Below are Bazi characteristics of people who are poor (check the diagram at end of article for to figure out explanations) :

  1. Chart with few output stars (shi-shen/ shang-guan) and no wealth stars (zheng-cai/ pian-cai)
  2. Chart with few wealth stars (zheng-cai/ pian-cai) but too many +power stars (zheng-guan)
  3. Weak DM with with many +output stars (shang-guan) and shortage of resource stars (zheng-yin/ pian-yin) for DM support and control of output stars
  4. Weak DM with numerous wealth stars (zheng-cai/ pian-cai) with no peer stars (jie-cai/ bi-jian) to handle wealth
  5. Chart with few wealth stars (zheng-cai/ pian-cai) and no output stars (shi-shen/ shang-guan) to create wealth, but too many peer stars (jie-cai/ bi-jian) to snatch wealth
  6. Chart with too many wealth stars (zheng-cai/ pian-cai) and power stars (zheng-guan/ qi-sha)

If a chart with any one of the above conditions, DM is likely to have problems getting rich during his lifetime.

“Ken, my chart meets one of the conditions listed above.  What should I do?”

A chart usually has both good and bad luck periods.  You either seek the help of a Bazi reader or take my Bazi courses (especially “Destiny/Luck Mgmt. 2” and “Destiny/Luck Mgmt. 3 ” to determine your good luck period, earn as much as you could and save for rainy days.  With DLM2/ 3 courses, they help you to create opportunities instead of waiting for mercy.

In Bazi or 4-pillars, favorable elements (“useful gods“) are the elements that keep a chart in balance for standard charts and “special” for non-standard charts.  When the owner (daymaster or DM) of the chart runs into luck periods with these favorable elements, his luck will be good or at the least, nothing bad happen to him.

However, it is not unusual that someone runs into major disasters, illness or even death during his favorable element luck period/s.  Why?

This has to do with the concepts static vs. dynamic favorable elements.

APPROACHES TO EXTRACTING FAVORABLE ELEMENTS

Static Model

This is the most popular approach used in most basic Bazi books/ courses and Bazi software because it is easy to learn and program.  It is based on the data from a moment in time (the birthday/ hour) and calculates which elements are needed to balance the chart.  These elements are called favorable elements and supporting elements (“happy god“).  Then these favorable elements are used as benchmarks to determine if the future luck periods are good or bad for the DM.  This is simple and logical.  Isn’t it?  But it fails to take into consideration of the cumulative effects of luck period elements on chart balance.  This is a main reason that this model does not always make the right predictions.

Another reason is that if there is/ are interactions between natal chart and luck period.  For example, if fire is favorable according to this static model and you see a bing-fire luck period coming, you may predict good luck comes for this DM.  But if there is a xin-metal in the natal chart or another luck period,  this fire may be converted into water which is likely unfavorable.

Dynamic Model

If we use taking a photo analogy at a certain time (like time of birth) for static model, dynamic model would be taking multiple photos at different points of time  (luck periods) and drawing different conclusions on which elements are favorable or unfavorable for each photo or point of time..

This approach takes care of changing dynamics between 5-elements in a chart.  For example, if water is “favorable” at birth, when a 10-years-luck and annual luck are all water elements, water may become excessive and unfavorable!  This is one of the reasons why one may die during his favorable luck period defined by static model.

The more of a “good thing” may not be merrier in 5-elements theory.  It is like salt is good for your body, but too much salt will give you high blood pressure.  The “right amount” of a good thing needed to keep the Bazi chart in balance is the key.

There are different levels of “dynamic model”—  taking photos or calculations of birth chart with

  1. 10-years-luck only
  2. 10-years-luck and annual luck only
  3. 10-years-luck, annual luck and current month
  4. 10-years-luck, annual luck, current month and current day
  5. 10-years-luck, annual luck, current month, current day and current hour

But most people would do to 10YL and annual luck level only unless DM is in serious trouble or illness.  It will be too much calculations even for Bazi software.

Note:  Below are some questions from “4P Bootcamp” discussion group.

Is the age in which the luck pillar changes Chinese age or western age?

It is based on solar calendar.  To calculate the first 10-years-luck (10YL), yang male/ yin female (based on birth year) count the number of days and hour from birthday/hour to next solar terms (3 days= 1yr, 1 Chinese hour= 10 days).  Yin male and yang female count the number of days and hour from birthday/hour BACKWARD to previous solar terms.  For detail calculation, consult your basic Bazi textbooks.

Some say Chinese and others say western (age). That can make a significant difference sometimes.

It is always presented using the stem of the first year of one’s10YL.  For example, my 10YL starts at every jia-year…..  This confusion is due to the way traditional Chinese method of counting age is different from westerners.  Chinese baby is already one year old when s/he is born.  Hence in some Chinese Bazi software, the year daymaster (DM) clashing Grand Duke is 12x+ 1 whereas Bazi software written by westerners is 12x.  Chinese way of counting the age of a dead person is even more bizarre– the dead guy gets 3 bonus years– one year each from heaven, earth and himself.  So if a person is dead at 68, his reported age of death would be 71 by the funeral home.

In the year of change, if it happens to be in the middle of the year, do the old/new pillar switch off/on or there’s a mixing of energy for the whole year?

You separate the year, so you may have half a year in the old 10YL and another half in new 10YL.

When 10YL switches, good or bad things are likely to happen, especially if the switch is from one region to another or “changing corner luck” (from hot to dry, for example, from wei to shen (fire to metal region)– if the new region is favorable (great!), if unfavorable (pray or take my “Destiny and Luck” course)

Events are more likely to happen in the beginning or end of a 10YL.  There is a saying about 10YL, “男怕交运,女怕脱运. Male is afraid of changing 10YL.  Female is afraid of the end of a 10YL.”

How soon will the new luck pillar be felt before the actual change takes place especially corner luck?

This is hard to say, but it is pretty common to see someone suddenly dies/suffers major mishaps or become filthy rich/ famous overnight when the annual luck or 10YL switches.   10YL is the “big environment“.  Annual luck is the trigger.  Activation depends on, I guess, the differentials in strength between favorable/unfavorable elements.  If there is an overwhelming imbalance and/or 3+ branches got clashed, events may happen faster.

Checking the year of luck period switching is one way of looking for “actions” or possible fortune/ misfortune event that may happen.

fu_yin_pixIn Bazi and Feng Shui,  Fu-yin means “identical” or “duplicate”.  For example, if a Bazi chart has two identical pillars or just two identical stems or branches, that pillar or element is called “fu-yin“.

Depending on the contexts, Fu-yin has multiple meanings.  There are Fu-yin meanings or implications in terms of pillars, stems, branches, illness, family members, 10 transformation stars (“10 gods“) and luck periods.

In this post, we just cover the Fu-yin meanings of luck periods.  This includes annual luck and 10-year-luck periods.

WHEN LUCK PERIOD FU-YIN (is identical to)

  1. Hour pillar:  traveling, long trips, pregnant, giving birth
  2. Resource star (zheng-yin/ pian-yin):  changing residence, job relocation
  3. Wealth star (zheng-cai/ pian-cai):  losing/ gaining wealth, wealth-related events, relationship matters, loan given out
  4. Day-branch:  one person becomes two (marrying, dating); two persons become one (separation, partner has long trips)
  5. Relative stars (e.g., output, power, wealth..etc):  relative getting sick, injury, disaster or death.
  6. Favorable element (“yong-shen/ useful god”): doubles the joy/happiness
  7. Unfavorable element (“ji-shen/ annoying god”): doubles the misfortune, sadness, sickness

Besides doubling the effect, Fu-yin also means repetition, reality does not match expectation or planning, or success slips away in the last minute.  This is especially accurate with day-branch.

Fu-yin” does not always mean negative as long as the element “duplicated” is favorable or at least not negative.

BONUS:  FU-YIN BETWEEN NATAL CHART PILLARS

Today is your lucky day because I am in a good mood.  I throw in the following bonus info:

  • Year/ hour pillar fu-yin (i.e.: identical stems and branches)DM did not meet older relatives when born or jinxed them when DM was young;  DM jinxes his descendants at old age or lacks relationship with them
  • Month/ day pillar fu-yin :   DM has unstable marriage, jinxing close relatives, emotional/ psychologically unstable, family disharmony
  • Month/ hour pillar fu-yin :  numerous ups and down in career, obstacles and stagnation
  • Day/ hour pillar fu-yin :  alone/ lonely during old age (descendants do not stay close to DM), unstable marriage/ romance

At the beginning of this year, I had sent a note warning my neighbor Billy, a 40+ years old programmer, about two most dangerous months and days to him for the year of Rooster.  His chart has hit the Bazi lottery configurations of “zi-wu-mao-you“– the most powerful clashes that people dread.

Zi, wu, mao, and you are the purest earth branches and also called the 4-cardinal branches.  These four energies clashes are like 4 cars driving towards each other head-on at high speed. Hence their energies are concentrated and powerful.  They are also called “peach-blossom” elements associated with romance and affairs.

When a chart has any two of these elements, it is not uncommon that 10-year luck and annual luck may bring in the other two missing elements to hit the zi-wu-mao-you negative lottery.  It could be accident, negative romance/ affair that may cause major wealth losses or even death or major sickness.

Other Bazi negative lottery configurations could be formed due to luck periods are:

1.  3-penalties like yin-si-shen/ chou-xu-wei

2.  Formation clashing formation like:

–hai-zi-chou vs. si-wu-wei or yin-wu-xu
–shen-zi-chen vs. si-wu-wei or yin-wu-xu
–yin-mao-chen vs. shen-you-xu or si-you-chou
–hai-mao-wei vs. shen-you-xu or si-you-chou
–si-wu-wei vs. shen-you-xu or si-you-chou
–yin-wu-xu vs. shen-you-xu or si-you-chou

3.  Three identical branches clashing one branch

I ran into my neighbor Billy while checking mailbox today.  “I’m glad to see you are still alive“.  I said.

Am I out of the wood yet?”  Billy asked.

Not yet, just the most dangerous periods are gone.  You still have to be cautious till the end of this year of rooster.”  I replied.

What else can I do?” Asked Billy.

Mow my lawn once a week and you will be safe“.  I said.

Do I look like stupid?”  Billy said.

Billy always helps families in the neighborhood remove heavy snow after snowstorm.  This is why I had sent him the warning note– to make sure he stays alive (and removes heavy snow from my driveway when snowstorm hits).

love_rival4This article shows the characteristics of Bazi charts that are likely to have “love rival” or competition and when this rival will show up.  Rival also means spousal affair if you are married.

If you are not familiar with Bazi terms, log into bazi-calculator.com and key in your birthday to find out your daymaster (in the day column) and the terms listed below.

Male natal chart with numerous peer stars (bi-jian/ jie-cai) is prone to love rival.  Peer stars stand for competitions for your girl friend or wife.  This is especially likely to happen for yang daymasters like jia, bing, wu, geng and ren (i.e. male born in these days).  The chance of rivalry increases if this is also a strong male DM.  This rivalry is likely to happen during DM’s peer luck  (bi-jian/ jie-cai) periods.

love_rival3Female natal chart with numerous output stars (shang-guan/ shi-shen) is prone to love rival.  Output stars stand for pressure and jinx for boy friend or husband, resulting in him running away or going for other women or affairs (if not jinxed to death in extreme case).   This is especially likely to happen for women with strong +output stars (shang-guan) due to her strong personality.  Female yin daymasters like yi, ding, ji, xin and gui are more likely to have love rivalry.  The chance of rivalry increases if this is also a weak female DM.  This rivalry is likely to happen during DM’s output luck  (shang-guan/ shi-shen) periods.

Love rivalry or affair can happen to people who are do not fit the above parameters, even with stable love or marriage.  This may happen when 10-years-luck or annual luck pillar clashing DM’s day branch (spouse palace) or peer star combining with this branch.

Another possibility of love rivalry happens when a male DM’s wealth star (i.e. zheng-cai/ pian-cai; wife) or female DM’s power star (i.e. zheng-guan/ qi-sha; husband) is combined away by luck pillar.

Ken, is there any remedy or prevention measure available?”

0000_promotionHow to check career or occupational change from one’s Bazi or 4P chart?  Please check below for details:

When power star (zheng-guan, pian-guan or qi-sha) is clashed, combined or controlled (“ke“).

— “Power” stars are what control the daymaster (DM).  For example, the power star of someone born in an earth day will be wood.  Power star stands for authority and career.  It signifies changes in career when power star has interaction with luck periods.

When resource star (zheng-yin, pian-yin) is clashed, combined or controlled (“ke“).

— “Resource” stars are what nurture the daymaster (DM).  For example, the resource star of someone born in an earth day is fire.  Resources stars stand for documents, study, transfer, certificate, rights/ privilege and superior.  When resource star has interaction with luck period, it implies changes in authority, transfer, and events related to older generation/ superior.

When “traveling horse” star (yin-tiger, shen-monkey, si-snake, hai-pig) shows up in luck periods.6ad62-moving2

–Traveling horse stars stand for mobility and movement.  When traveling horse star shows up in one’s luck period, it implies changes in living and working environment.  Below is how to find your traveling horse star.

If your year or day branch in your 4P chart

  • is yin, wu or xu, your traveling horse star is shen-monkey
  • is si, you or chou, your traveling horse star is hai-pig
  • is shen, zi or chen  your traveling horse star is yin-tiger
  • is hai, mao or wei  your traveling horse star is si-snake
