When life and things are great, people often think that the good life is “normal” and will last forever.   But Life is like a roller-coaster with many ups and downs. What goes up will go down someday.  badluck

Without bad luck, there would be no good luck to contrast.  Sooner or later bad luck will catch up with anyone.

How do you know you are in a bad luck period?  Beside getting a Bazi reading, check the following list to see if you are in bad luck now:

  1. Poor sleep or insomnia; nightmares or strange dreams
  2. Eyelids tickling or ringing ears
  3. Unstable emotion, easily irritated , throwing tantrums
  4. Minor illness, pimples or swellings grow on face
  5. Confusing mind and thought, unable to quiet down to think
  6. Poor interpersonal relationship with relatives, friends and coworkers
  7. Running into obstacles when doing anything.  Daily chores that are used to be a breeze are difficult to do well now.
  8. Sudden breaking of everyday utensils, light bulbs, flooding, leaking pipes, machines or electronics.
  9. Losing money and wealth without knowing the reason behind.
  10. Minor traffic accidents or car damages/ scratches
  11. Your home suddenly has many flies.
  12. Hit by bird pooh

If you run into 3+ of the above, you are in bad luck now.  But today is your lucky day.  You can follow the simple Feng Shui fixes below to alleviate or reduce the effect of your bad luck:

  1. Do a major cleaning of your house.
  2. Switch to a different bedroom to sleep
  3. Change the head-pointing direction of your bed or move your bed location
  4. Donate or throw away old or damaged objects like clothing, furniture and etc.
  5. Re-arrange your furniture
  6. Rearrange your closet and remove/demote rarely used old clothing and shoes.
  7. Adjusting your sitting position at home and office (change the facing direction, make sure there is a wall at the back of your chair) or simply change the sitting location.
  8. Remove any Feng Shui fountain if it has been in the same location for over a year.
  9. Take a short out-of-town vacation or day trip to change your energy fields
  10. Invite friends to your home for partying, to warm up the energy of your house.
  11. Go to a temple or church to pray
  12. Do some volunteering work helping people or animals
  13. Donate money to charity
  14. Feed homeless cats or dogs
  15. Avoid going to cemetery, funeral and hospital.

If the above fixes do not fix your bad luck, you may have some serious problems.  You need to consult a Bazi reader and/or Feng Shui practitioner to design more personalized remedies.

Previous post derives self-penalties by matching branch 3-unities (San-he) to 3-meetings (San-hui).  This post uses branch groups to locate self-penalties.

Classic Bazi segregates 12 branch elements into 3 groups:

4 cardinal or peach-blossom elements

—  zi, wu, mao and you

4 sub-cardinal or traveling horses elements

—  yin, shen, si and hai

4 storage or tomb elements

—  chen, xu, chou and wei

From the above, we have 3-penalties

  1. zi-mao penalty
  2. yin-shen-si 3-penalties
  3. xu-chou-wei 3-penalties

The branch elements that are missing in these 3-penalties actions become self-penalty when running into identical element.

Self-Penalties:

  • Chen-chen
  • You-you
  • Wu-wu
  • Hai-hai

Don’t overlook the destructive power and influence of self-penalty.  It could be as serious as other penalties.  Out of the 4 self-penalties, wu, you and hai self-penalties are most serious because:

  • Wu-fire is the yang-knife (羊刃) of bing-fire
  • You-metal  is the yang-knife of geng-metal
  • Hai-water is the yang-knife of gui-water

Self-penalty becomes serious matter when the corresponding stem showing up in the stem level, especially if the stem is also the daymaster (DM).

Self-penalty could mean:

  • self-inflicted pain/ injurydepression
  • self-sabotage
  • addiction
  • depression
  • worrisome
  • meddlesome
  • petty
  • cannot let go of trivial matters

If the self-penalty element is also the yang-knife of the DM,  s/he may have health problems (self-inflicted, psychosomatic or psychological), suicidal due to depression, love-sickness depression and the likes.

Self-penalty is also one of the causes of depression.

In Chinese astrology, everyone is assigned an animal sign from a pool of 12 animals based on the birth year.  This article discloses a rarely taught secret of “12 worrisome birth months“.

People who were born in their “worrisome month” of their own specific birth animal sign likely to have the following characteristics:

Personality:  worrisome, gloomy, grumpy, down, pessimistic and feel disaster coming anytime, self-defeatist, “shooting oneself in the foot” type.

HOW TO CALCULATE YOUR WORRISOME MONTH

Worrisome month is calculate in terms of solar months (it is about a month slower than western month).  The easiest way to calculate it is to use the bazi-calculator link below, key in your birthday and check the left side table as shown below:

https://bazi-calculator.com/

The example below is to check someone with December 4, 1980 birthday was born in his worrisome month or not.  The birth animal sign is monkey for the person and birth month is pig or hai.

Then we check the list of worrisome month in terms of birth animal sign below.  The worrisome month for monkey sign is pig or hai month.  Hence this person was born in a worrisome month  (potential client for psychologist).

The followings are worrisome months based on Chinese zodiac animal signs:

–Worrisome month:  ox or chou (twelfth solar month)

SNAKE (years born: 1941, 1953, 1965, 1977, 1989, 2001, 2013,  2025, 2037)

–Worrisome month:  tiger or yin month  (first solar month)

HORSE (years born: 1942, 1954, 1966, 1978, 1990, 2002, 2014, 2026, 2038, 2050)

–Worrisome month:  rooster or you month  (eighth solar month)

RAM (years born: 1931, 1943, 1955, 1967, 1979, 1991, 2003, 2015, 2027, 2039 )

–Worrisome month:  dog or xu month (ninth solar month)

–Worrisome month:  rat or  zi month (eleventh solar month)

DOG (years born: 1934, 1946, 1958, 1970,  1982, 1994, 2006, 2018, 2030, 2042)

–Worrisome month:  ram or wei month  (sixth solar month)

PIG  (years born: 1935, 1947, 1959, 1971, 1983, 1994, 2007, 2019, 2031, 2043 )

–Worrisome month:  monkey or shen month  (seventh solar month)

“Ken, can you explain the rationale behind these worrisome months?”

This will take 12 letter-sized pages to explain.  Most of you will have no patience to read and me no time to write.  For the intellectually curious– this has something to do with the interactions between the hidden elements inside the animal signs and the “12 life stages of stem” theory.

Now psychologists have one more tool to diagnose depression– to check if the patient was born in a worrisome month.

Note:  This is a “green” post recycled from an old article with updated info.

Current year’s Dragon Boat Festival falls on this coming Tuesday  (May 30, 2017, ding-si day).

Chinese collect “dragon-boat water” for cleansing because the day is the “yangest” day in the year.  It is called dragon-boat water because Chinese run dragon-boat races on water during this festival.

Negative energy is considered as “yin“.  The cure for it is to apply yang energy.  Dragon-boat water is collected during the yangest day and hour of the year and so it has a high level of yang energy.

To get your FREE dragon-boat water, simply turn on your water tap between 11:00- 13:00 on this coming Tuesday and collect the water.

Dragon-boat water is good for cleansing like:

  • your home has many sickness lately— clean home with this water
  • your feel depressed (take shower with it or spray on your body)
  • drink it (if you have chronic sickness, boil it first! But don’t drink too much)
  •  take a shower with it to wash away your bad luck (negative energy)
  • cleansing unknown objects like the antique you bought from Goodwill
  • cleansing your home/ office or simply cleaning your home with it.
  • spray it on your body after visiting hospital, funeral home, cemetery, etc.
  • wash/ spray your car with this water to avoid accident

Readers have reported positive experience with the applications of this dragon boat  water.  Please note:  Always consult a health professional for any medical or psychological problems.

0000_suicideWhat Bazi characteristics are found in people who are prone to depression, mental illness and suicide?  One major characteristic is wood element in one’s Bazi chart is over-controlled, over-nurtured, over-drained or overwhelmed.  Wood element represents the nervous system of a person.  The nervous system and mental ability of a person will be affected when some excessive actions happened to the wood element of his Bazi chart.

Below are Bazi variables that affect one’s tendency to be suicidal and depressive:

1. Weak daymaster (DM) with strong output and/ or power stars (Shi-shen/ Shang-guan and Zheng-guan/ qi-sha)– Daymaster with this condition is likely physically weak, lacking confidence and strong will.  Strong output stars means DM thinks too much.  Strong power stars also stand for pressure from government, superior or pressure to succeed in something (also men problems for women).

When a chart has both strong output and power stars,  DM may suffer cognitive dissonance or conflicting emotion.  S/he looks elegant and traditional externally, but inside s/he is wild and dislike restrictions.  When running into setback, s/he is likely feeling depressed. This condition is quite common,  like when a weak DM has one or two output and/or power stars in the natal chart and luck periods bring in two or more similar stars.  This DM may either go crazy or depressive and is easily agitated to do the unthinkable.

2. Chart with strong metal chopping wood— DM with weak Jia or Yi-wood usually has weak mental capacity to handle complicated life events.  If the weak wood is further controlled by strong mental, DM is prone to mental illness and even suicide.

3. Chart with strong fire burning wood— Wood produces fire.  If a DM runs into strong fire luck periods that drains wood, it may cause over-thinking and induces headache and nervous system related illness.  Some minor irritations or mishaps may drive DM into attempted suicide.

4. Chart with strong water floating wood— Water nurtures wood.  But too much water will float and rot wood, especially if there is little or no sunshine (fire) providing warmth and strong earth to anchor it.  DM with “strong water floating wood” in his chart is likely facing numerous ups and downs in life.  If such conditions last for extended periods, DM’s mental condition will deteriorate and prone to mental depression.

5. Chart with strong earth cracking wood— Wood controls earth.  But too much or strong earth can crack wood.  When wood “cracks” in a chart, it affects the mental conditions of DM.  DM may feel too much pressure and prone to mental illness and suicide.

0000_depressWhen you read chart with any of the above conditions, you should advice the DM to see a psychologist or at the least, tell him/ her “don’t think too much” and “everything will workout itself one way or another“.

With the prevalence of teen suicides in recent years, school counselors could use this Bazi knowledge to identify students with potential depression and suicidal tendency and take preventive measures.

Chart with one overwhelmingly strong or weak element usually signals major illness or negative condition in life.  To know more:

My articles on Bazi penalties are the most read articles.  Here is more info on self-penalties.

Self-penalties are generated from the intersections of san-he (3-unities) and san-hui (3-meetings) combinations.

1.  Hai-hai self-penalty

  • derived from: haimao-wei and hai-zi-chou
  • water is too strong.
  • hurt by water, drowning, suicide by jumping into water

2.  Chen-chen self-penalty

  • derived from: shen-zi-chen and yin-mao-chen
  • earth is too strong.
  • hurt by earth, buried by earth, suicide by jumping from tall building

3.  Wu-wu self-penalty

  • derived from: si-wu-wei and yin-wu-xu
  • fire is too strong.
  • hurt by fire, electrocuted,  suicide by burning coal indoor.

4.  You-you self-penalty

  • derived from: si-you-chou and shen-you-xu
  • metal is too strong.
  • hurt by metal, suicide by self-stabbing, cutting veins.

People with self-penalty are sentimental, prone to depression, and “shoot themselves in the feet” type.

If you want to learn more about penalties and Bazi in general, you may want to check out my “4-Pillars Forecasting Bootcamp” video correspondence course.
