On June 13, 2017, a white dog was hit by a car and died on the road in China’s Nantong City of Jiangsu Province.  The deceased dog’s friend, a black dog, had pulled it from the busy traffic to roadside and tried to “revive” it by shaking and pulling the dead body.

Dog is the best friend of any species. The video below speaks volumes: (viewer discretion: may be offensive to some).  If you cannot see the video, click this link:

Only a few days ago, also in China, a report of a gruesome death of a Henan woman hit by two cars in less than a few minutes due to “bystander effect” is released.  Over 40 people and cars had passed by the victim after she was hit by the first car– had not done a thing to help the victim.

Below is the link for the video (viewer discretion: may be offensive to some).

Chinese netizens who knew about this bystander incident, after watching this dog video,  have commented:

“Seeing this (video), the contrast makes humans ashamed of themselves” 对比让人生愧

It is too bad the Henan woman car victim had not raised a dog“. 河南那被撞的女子,可惜没养条狗。

“In reality, some people are not measured up to a dog”.  现实生活中,有些人真的不如狗!

From now on, Chinese is not qualified to insult animals“. 以后中国人再没有资格侮辱禽兽

RIP Ms. Ma the car victim

RIP White dog!

0000_fs_guyAfter reading my previous article on “Why check Bazi before doing Feng Shui?“,  a student of mine asks the questions below:

“If a client is in bad wealth luck period and requests wealth enhancement, the practitioner cannot do much with Feng Shui.”

  • But then I ask myself, what is Feng Shui for?
  • Isn’t it to help us during our bad luck periods?
  • If our luck periods are good, we don’t need Feng Shui.   Isn’t this correct?
  • So, if this is the case, then why do we bother with Feng Shui at all?
  • Probably I’m missing something here…

Don’t throw away your Feng Shui books yet.

I will ask more questions to answer your questions — to stimulate your intellectual growth.

FENG SHUI AND WEALTH CORRELATION

Donald Trump had hired Feng Shui Master Pun-yin in the design of his Trump Tower in 1995.  Why it is Donald Trump and not Master Pun-yin becoming ultra-rich and President?

Feng Shui was originated in China.  It is more appropriate to look at the ultra-rich in China, Taiwan and Hong Kong.

0000_jackmaJack Ma, the CEO of Alibaba Group is known to at least respect and follow Feng Shui practices.  Lee Ka Shing, the real estate tycoon of Hong Kong is well-known for utilizing Feng Shui to enhance his prosperity.  Terry Gou, Taiwanese tycoon, the CEO of Foxconn is also known for dedication to Feng Shui practices down to his ancestral tombs.

I cannot find any ultra-rich Feng Shui masters in these regions (with the exception of Tony Chan who had amassed a huge fortune using “special relationship” with his female client).  Why?

Therefore we can see there may be a correlation between people who hire Feng Shui masters and become richer but no correlation between Feng Shui masters and their wealth level.

Take me for example–  I know 20+ Feng Shui techniques, from “water dragon”, “5-ghosts carry money” to “think and get rich” and 100+ Daoist ritual techniques for attaining or enhancing wealth luck.  I should be very rich but not.  Why?

UNIVERSAL RULE OF WEALTH AND BLESSING0000_ultra_rich

A popular belief in wealth and blessing in China is:  the amount of wealth and blessing of an individual is predetermined.  Only under rare circumstance like extreme hard work and good deeds performed,  the predetermined amount may be altered for the individual.

When you have consumed or used up your predetermined wealth and blessing– you will die even if you have not reached your life-expectancy date.  This is why I do not encourage people to push wealth enhancement because it could also mean they may  cut short their life expectancy unknowingly.

How do you find out your predetermined amount?  The exact amount is hard to determined but a rough sketch can be deduced from checking the wealth elements in one’s Bazi chart.

Another rule of predetermined wealth is one rarely gets all of what one entitled– one must at least show some efforts.  For example, if your predetermined amount is $10M,  you may at most get 0- 70% of the allocated amount.  To get more, you may need to do good deeds, persistent hard work and use metaphysical methods like Feng Shui, QMDJ and Bazi.  But one rarely gets more than the predetermined amount.

Therefore, Feng Shui definitely can help in wealth attainment.  But this is a narrow application of Feng Shui.  Feng Shui serves more functions than just enhancing your wealth luck.

To be continued in Part II:  Can Feng Shui help bad wealth luck period?

According to news, an old woman in Jiangxi Province (China) suddenly fell down while cycling at 4 am on May 15, 2016.  Ambulance and police had come and concluded the woman deceased and left without taking the body away nor arranging any mortuary service to handle the corpse.

The body was left on the road around 4 am.

This old woman made a living by scavenging or recycling garbage in the city.  She had adopted 8 homeless dogs.  Her dogs surrounded and guarded her body after the ambulance and police had left.

Her body was still laid in open even at 10 am of the same day.  Her dogs still stayed around her.  People were deeply touched by the scene.

Pictures of this incident was posted on the web. A netizen wrote,

All this old woman has are 8 homeless dogs accompanied her when she left this earth.  I wish there is no pain in heaven– have a smooth final journey.

“离世后只有老人生前收养的8只流浪狗陪伴在她身边,愿天堂没有痛苦,一路走好”。

Others commented:

“Dogs are more humane than people” 狗比人有情

“Dogs sometimes behave like human.  But humans always behave like animals!”

「動物偶爾也會有人性,人卻經常像畜牲一樣!」

While most Chinese netizens are angered by the indignity and sad ending of this old woman.  A reader gives a different opinion:

Granny probably preferred the company of her dogs to the apathetic and materialistic human realm.  婆婆寧願與狗多伴一會也未必願意去到冰冷又見利忘義的人類範圍。

Her spirit is surrounded and protected by loyal dogs is a blessing too.  能夠有忠犬護靈也是一種福氣婪其財物之嘴臉

Many people have seen their children’s greedy faces for inheritance even before their last breath.  Isn’t this more unfortunate than the granny?”  不少人未斷氣便已經見到仔女貪婪其財物之嘴臉,不是比婆婆更可悲嗎?

Dogs are more reliable than human.  Whether you are poor, rich, sick, homeless or disrepute, they will not walk away.  They will always stay with you till the end.

Dogs can see spirits and ghosts.  I think the old woman’s spirit is still at the scene of incident and her dogs can see her.  So they stayed there.

RIP Granny

When I check my top 10 blog articles, the biggest surprise is the one about the “hardest Chinese character” climbs to my top 10 list.

http://kenlaifengshui.blogspot.com/2007/10/hardest-chinese-charcter-ever.html

Recently I have found that China’s People’s Daily has compiled a list of “most difficult Chinese characters to recognize“.  Have fun with the following!

1.  Yao:  3 “earth” elements or roots; means “high mountain”.

2.  Xian: 3 “fish” elements, means the fishes are very fresh.

3.  Xian: 3 “dog” elements, looks like 3 dogs running.  “Speedy“, “rising quickly” are the extended meanings.

4.  Cu: 3 “deer” elements, looks like 1 adult deer with two small deers packed together with confusion.  It means “blind or rough force“.  Here Cu means non-refined cereals.

5.  Ben: 3 “ox” elements, looks like 3 oxen running forward.  Ben is another way of writing 奔(“ben” running, rushing) with the same rushing and running meaning.

6.  Shan: 3 “goat” elements, Shan is another way of writing (“shan” ) with the same meaning odor of goat/ sheep (cooked or raw).

7.  Mei: 2 “dumb”  (呆 dai) elements together– another way of writing “plum” (梅 mei).  This character is originated from Shantong province and means “inarticulate and dumb“.

8.  Bi: 3 “money” (贝 bei) elements, sign of exerting energy (to make money).  Bi is also the name of one of the 9 legendary sons of the dragon king.

9.  Cui: 3 “hair” elementsmeans hairBut this hair means refined or tiny hair over the skin that is hard to be seen.

10.  Pa: 3 “hand” elements, first two hands stand for normal hands and the third one is for pickpocket. Pa means “pickpocket”.

11.  Suo/ rui: 3 “heart”  elements; when pronouncing as “suo“, it means puzzling or worrying.  When read as “rui“, it refers to an ancient worship ritual in autumn.

12.  Mo: 3 “eye” elements; this word means pretty eyes or long range perspective.

13.  Lei: 3 “field” elements, same as thunder (雷 lei) during ancient times.  This word means the farm land.

14.  Zhuan: 3 “son” elements, original meaning is “alone and pitiful like an orphan”, but Chinese netizens use it to mean being enslaved by “house, car and spouse” (symbolizes 3 “sons” or子).

15.  Hua: 3 “tongue” elements; this is another version of “talk” (话, hua).  Hua here means flaming, instigating conflicts and talking bad about other people.

16.  Jiong: this character looks like a brightly lit window.  The original meanings are “bright” and “righteous”.  However, this character looks like an emoji with eyebrow lowering down like a sad expression.  So it is used to mean depressed, sad, boring, alienated and helpless in Chinese internet.

 17.  Biang: this is probably the most complicated Chinese character with 56 strokes.  This is the name of a regional noodle in Shannxi province– “biang biang noodle“.  “Biang” is the sound when hitting the raw noodle on the chopping board.

Most of these “difficult” characters are formed by tripling the same element or root.  One can easily guess its meaning by interpreting the original meaning of a specific single element.

70% or more are words that are rarely used nowadays or ancient words.  #16 Jiong is the only word gets a new lease in life and becomes very popular in the internet age because it looks like a sad emoji.

One needs to recognize around 2500 Chinese characters to read common Chinese reading materials.  It is no big deal if you cannot recognize these 17 Chinese characters.  Most Chinese cannot recognize 90% of this list anyway.

I had written “A pain in the rear Feng Shui” in 2011 — the “nail households” and “nail tombs” whose owners and residents had refused relocation of their properties in face of new development.

http://kenlaifengshui.blogspot.com/2011/10/pain-in-rear-feng-shui.html

Recently, there is a report of the “Coolest ‘nail tombs’ in Beijing” in the internet.  There are two tombs in the middle of a new main road in the Shun-yi district 顺义区 of Beijing. These tombs occupy 30 square meters or two-third of the width of this road.

One tomb is quite old with the burial of a Red Army martyr.  The other tomb is pretty recent.  The tomb owners refuse to relocate these tombs because of low compensation.

The road is an east-west direction road forming a “road-clash” or “chong” to the tombs.  In terms of Feng Shui, this is worse than being surrounded by tall buildings.

With a “nail household” or “nail tomb” being surrounded by tall buildings, residents or descendants will suffer dwindling luck and fortune gradually.  But with road-clash to the house or tomb, they may suffer serious accidents or sicknesses resulting in deaths.  It will happen within 3 to 6 years.

It is unwise for the nail tomb owners to hold out the relocation.  Disasters may happen before they get their money.

Below are other examples of “nail tomb” and “nail house” sitting in the middle of a main road:

Few could imagine these “nail tombs” and “nail houses” phenomena could happen in Communist China with its all-encompassing government and local bureaucrats. Here in USA, even a small city government can “rezone” a private property as public area and buyout any nail house/ tomb with the power of “eminent domain“.  The owners may sue the government in court but expensive legal fees are likely to scare them away.

For more info on road-clash and form Feng Shui, you may want to take my “Advanced Visual Form Feng Shui” video correspondence course.

On last Valentines Day (Feb. 14, 2016), someone in China has posted the pictures of two geese “goodbye kissing” with a poem:

  • Kissing my love goodbye 与君吻离别,
  • Sending you off to the village exit 相送到村口,
  • Sunset stretching our shadows 夕阳长身影,
  • From now on we are separated forever 自此各天涯!

geese2_1

geese2_2

geese_lovershadowThese pictures become viral in the Chinese internet and are re-posted by numerous news agencies in China. Netizens said these are the most touching photos of 2016 Valentines Day.  They lamented that life is similar to the fate of these two geese lovers.  One wrong turn or incident may end a relationship forever.  “We should treasure the nice people around us now and not after we have lost them.”

Reporters have located the owner of these two geese– Miss Deng of Guangdong Province.  Her parents had raised these geese for over a year in their ancestral village.

On the second day of Lunar New Year (Feb. 9, 2016), her father had gifted the female goose to his relative.  Mr. Deng had tied up the goose, put her in a paper box and further wrapped the box with a bag.  He then tied the whole box to the back of his motorcycle.  The male goose was agitated and attempted to untie the strings wrapped around the female goose with his beck.  Miss Deng was very surprised by the male goose’s behavior.  His action was very affectionate too.  He also honked sadly as if begging the master to release the female goose.

The Deng family members also felt sad to send the goose off.  But their relative had rushed them to bring the goose for dinner.  Eventually the female goose was delivered to the relative and become part of the new year dinner.geese_roasted

What has happened to the male goose?  He was slaughtered later too.  Miss Deng said her parents will leave the village to the city to work, leaving no one to take care of the goose.  They took care of business by putting him into their stomachs.

Miss Deng hopes that netizens could understand that the final destiny of family raised geese– becoming food.

Many readers have posted poems to memorialize these two geese lovers.  Some even created follow-up stories with their imagination and Photoshop skills.  Below is one of the popular ones.

geese_alternate

While these two lover geese cannot “rest in peace“, but at least they are now meeting in geese heaven.  We thank them for teaching us a lesson about love and living our lives.  Maybe this is the mission of their current lifetime.  We pray for them to move on to a higher realm of being in their next lives.

There are still some dog-loving people in China even they have the notorious dog-meat festival there.  Today I will share photos of dogs and some Chinese old people.

A major difference between cats and dogs with old Chinese folks is that dogs are more likely to help their homeless owners to “work” or panhandle.  Dog’s facial expression, very often, is reflective of its owners emotional state.  Both cats and dogs do not discriminate whether their owners are old, sick, poor or homeless.  They will keep following them regardless.

All pictures below are collected from Chinese websites.
