Bazi

My student asks me this question that probably most of the Feng Shui students want to know but are afraid to ask:

What are your thoughts when it comes to having several Feng Shui techniques/ schools of thought in a practitioner’s toolkit when selecting or auditing a house? Is it more advisable to use one technique/ lineage/ school over others, or use a combination — for example,  some masters screen using 8 mansions first, then combine with flying stars etc. Does combining or using a single li-qi (formula) technique make any difference.”

Here is my translation of this long question in one sentence:  Which one is better–  Frankenstein vs. pure bred Feng Shui approach?

FRANKENSTEIN FENG SHUI

The classic western movie “Frankenstein” is about a mad scientist who had created a monster out of body parts from different corpses.

Frankenstein Feng Shui is the application of 2 or more Feng Shui schools techniques in a Feng Shui audit.  The most common one is mixing of Flying Stars and Bazhai (8-mansions) Feng Shui in an audit.

On the positive side, if the practitioner knows the specialty or strong points of each Feng Shui school, s/he may apply, for example:  Bazhai in kitchen, San He for bed arrangement, XKDG for door, Flying Star for wealth enhancement,… and the like.

On the negative side, some practitioners do not really understand the Feng Shui schools and haphazardly apply different Feng Shui schools techniques in their audits.  For example, I have seen quite a few “tilt it again Sam” doors in Malaysia and Singapore.  Some “masters” set up two doors at different angles in a house or business.  The first door is tilted for the auspicious Bazhai angle and the second door for Flying Star.  It is as if the qi entering the premise is “smart” and can distinguish the first door is for Bazhai, second door for Flying Star Feng Shui and “behave” accordingly.

PURE BRED FENG SHUI

Pure bred” here means loosely as “one school only”.  In reality, there is really no pure bred Feng Shui because most Feng Shui schools “borrow” something from others.  For example, the popular Flying Star has more than 10+ variations, so is Bazhai.

Is pure bred better than Frankenstein Feng Shui?  The answer is both “yes” and “no”.

Every Feng Shui system has its own peculiar properties that works well with certain land forms, like some methods work better with mountain regions while others with flat-land or river regions.  Hence when there is a match between land form and a pure bred Feng Shui School, the results will be great.  If not, the opposite happens.

SEMI-PURE BRED OR VOTING FENG SHUI

In this brand of Feng Shui, the practitioner employs one Feng Shui school only, but takes references to other schools’ judgment on each Feng Shui sector.  For example, if Flying Star thinks this door location is great but Bazhai says it sucks and IF this practitioner only considers two school (one + and one minus), this location still “usable” or “OK”.  If both schools agree that this location is bad, then remedy is sought or not using this location.  If both schools think this location is great, then this location must be very good.

“Ken, what is your position on this topic?”

Before I put on a Frankenstein or pure bred hat (I should market a “Make Feng Shui Great Again” hat),  I check the Bazi or 4-pillars chart of the client first.  If s/he is in good luck period, I will tell him just pick whatever house s/he wants and fire the Feng Shui guy (me).

If client is in average or low luck period,  I would use Form Feng Shui first.  Formula Feng Shui will not work if the forms are not there!  If the forms look good with the 4-animals and right forms, the Feng Shui of that property should not be bad.

I would cherry-pick the best feature of different Feng Shui schools.  “Fran-ken-stein” has my name inside.

“Ken, you sound like pushing your Feng Shui courses by advocating Frankenstein Feng Shui.”

You are so smart.  If you can only afford one Feng Shui course, take the “Advanced Visual Form Feng Shui” listed below.  Feng Shui teachers can cheat you with formula Feng Shui because you cannot see li-qi or formula.  Form Feng Shui is what you see is what you get– everyone can see forms like mountains and rivers.

Below are the Bazi characteristics of women who are likely remain childless or at the most, giving birth to girls and not boys.

1.  Strong DM (daymaster, the woman) with strong resource stars (zheng-yin/ pian-yin) but no wealth star (zheng-cai/ pian-cai).  For example, strong Jia-wood DM with strong water but no earth.

2.  Weak DM with strong output stars (shang-guan/ shi-shen) but weak resource stars (zheng-yin/ pian-yin).  For example, weak Jia-wood DM with strong fire but weak water.

3.  Weak DM with strong wealth stars (zheng-cai/ pian-cai) meeting resource stars (zheng-yin/ pian-yin).  For example, weak Jia-wood DM with strong earth and water.

4.  Weak DM with strong power stars (zheng-guan/ qi-sha).  For example, weak Jia-wood DM with strong metal.

5.  Charts with any one of the following conditions:

  • over-strong fire and dried earth
  • strong wet earth and metal
  • over-strong water floating wood
  • freezing metal and cold water
  • numerous resource stars
  • over-strong power and wealth stars
  • too many output stars

The reasons behind the above are given in my private Bazi discussion groups along with this article.  You can easily figure it out if you convert the transformation stars (“10-gods“) into 5-elements relationship and yin-yang balance.

fu_yin_pixIn Bazi and Feng Shui,  Fu-yin means “identical” or “duplicate”.  For example, if a Bazi chart has two identical pillars or just two identical stems or branches, that pillar or element is called “fu-yin“.

Depending on the contexts, Fu-yin has multiple meanings.  There are Fu-yin meanings or implications in terms of pillars, stems, branches, illness, family members, 10 transformation stars (“10 gods“) and luck periods.

In this post, we just cover the Fu-yin meanings of luck periods.  This includes annual luck and 10-year-luck periods.

WHEN LUCK PERIOD FU-YIN (is identical to)

  1. Hour pillar:  traveling, long trips, pregnant, giving birth
  2. Resource star (zheng-yin/ pian-yin):  changing residence, job relocation
  3. Wealth star (zheng-cai/ pian-cai):  losing/ gaining wealth, wealth-related events, relationship matters, loan given out
  4. Day-branch:  one person becomes two (marrying, dating); two persons become one (separation, partner has long trips)
  5. Relative stars (e.g., output, power, wealth..etc):  relative getting sick, injury, disaster or death.
  6. Favorable element (“yong-shen/ useful god”): doubles the joy/happiness
  7. Unfavorable element (“ji-shen/ annoying god”): doubles the misfortune, sadness, sickness

Besides doubling the effect, Fu-yin also means repetition, reality does not match expectation or planning, or success slips away in the last minute.  This is especially accurate with day-branch.

Fu-yin” does not always mean negative as long as the element “duplicated” is favorable or at least not negative.

BONUS:  FU-YIN BETWEEN NATAL CHART PILLARS

Today is your lucky day because I am in a good mood.  I throw in the following bonus info:

  • Year/ hour pillar fu-yin (i.e.: identical stems and branches)DM did not meet older relatives when born or jinxed them when DM was young;  DM jinxes his descendants at old age or lacks relationship with them
  • Month/ day pillar fu-yin :   DM has unstable marriage, jinxing close relatives, emotional/ psychologically unstable, family disharmony
  • Month/ hour pillar fu-yin :  numerous ups and down in career, obstacles and stagnation
  • Day/ hour pillar fu-yin :  alone/ lonely during old age (descendants do not stay close to DM), unstable marriage/ romance

soundofMoneyToday is your ultra-lucky day– I will show you step-by-step how to figure out your own personalized sound of wealth to enhance your wealth luck.

The first step is to understand the “self” or daymaster (DM) in Bazi.  The second step is to find out if you have a “strong” or “weak”  DM.  The final step is to determine your personalized sound of wealth.

Bazi is based on 5-elements theory.  The 5-elements are: metal, wood, water, fire and earth.  Every person is assigned to one of these 5-elements according to their birthday.  For example, I was born in a metal day, so I am a “metal daymaster” (DM).

In Bazi, what I (metal person) control is my wealth.  Metal chops or controls wood.  So metal is my wealth element.  You will find out your wealth element following the tutorial below.   This tutorial is also helpful for you to understand my other articles on Bazi topics.

HOW TO FIND OUT YOUR DAYMASTER AND STRENGTH

1.  Log in to http://www.bazi-calculator.com

2.  In the right-side of the screen panel box, select “Ken Lai Method“.  No need to bother with anything else.

3.  Key in your birthday and hour in the left side of the screen.  Ignore the right side screen for “date to compare“.

4.  Click the “calculate” box to get results.

5.  Scroll down the screen and see your Bazi chart in the left side with a table similar to the one here.

6.  The first box of second column (the one with “day master” in it) shows the elemental nature of your daymaster  (example here is geng-metal in grey color).  Below are the colors of 5 elements:

  • Metal (Geng and Xin) in grey color (wealth is Wood)
  • Wood (Jia and Yi) in green color (wealth is Earth)
  • Water (Ren and Gui) in blue color (wealth is Fire)
  • Fire (Bing and Ding) in red color (wealth is Metal)
  • Earth (Wu and Ji) in yellow color (wealth is Water)

7.  Next to find if you are a strong or weak DM. Scroll down to the elongated box showing the words “DM strength”, similar to the one below:

 8.  Below shows you how to determine if you have a weak or strong DM if your supporting elements is

  •  25% or less = pretty weak DM
  • 40% or less = weak DM
  • 40- 50% = almost balanced DM
  •  50%+ = strong DM
  • 60%+ = strong DM

9.  This calculation is a rough estimation that is pretty accurate if you have a standard chart.  About 20% of Bazi charts are non-standard.

After you have found out your DM element and DM strength, come back next time to find out how to use your personalized sound of wealth to enhance your wealth luck.

Believe it or not, you can find out if your marriage rocks, so-so or sucks from the day-pillar of your Bazi chart.MaritalBliss

The first part or stem of your day-pillar represents you, the “daymaster” or DM.  The second part or branch is the “spouse palace” and represents your spouse.  The “star” sits in your spouse palace will give you a glimpse of your marital bliss.

Don’t worry if you do not know Bazi.  You can read the Appendix below to figure out your day-pillar using your birthday.

MARITAL BLISS IN TERMS OF DAY-BRANCH

1. Male day branch with zheng-cai or pian-cai  (wealth star)

Day Pillars:  Yi-chou, Yi-wei, Bing-shen, Ding-you, Wu-zi, Ji-hai, Geng-yin and Ren-wu.  乙丑,乙未,丙申,丁酉,戊子,己亥,庚寅,壬午

  • Wealth is the wife star for a male daymaster.  Wealth sits in spouse palace for a man is called “Star and palace in the same place” 宫星同位.  This usually stands for a happy and perfect marriage.  If wealth star is also favorable, it means this man getting rich through wife or enjoying wife’s wealth. (Rating: Best)

2. Female day branch with zheng-guan or qi-sha (power star)

Day Pillars:  Jia-shen, Yi-you, Ding-hai, Ji-mao, Geng-wu, Xin-si, Gui-chou and Gui-wei. 甲申,乙酉,丁亥,己卯,庚午,辛巳,癸丑,癸未

  • Power is the husband star for a female daymaster.  Power star sits in spouse palace for a woman is called “Star and palace in the same place” 宫星同位.  This usually stands for a happy and perfect marriage.  If power star is also favorable, it means this couple love each other deeply and enjoy fame and wealth. (Rating: Best)

3. Both male and female day branch with zheng-yin or pian-yin (resource star)

Day Pillars:  Jia-zi, Yi-hai, Bing-yin, Ding-mao, Wu-wu, Ji-si, Geng-chen, Geng-xu, Xin-chou, Xin-wei, Ren-shen and Gui-you 甲子,乙亥,丙寅,丁卯,戊午,己巳,庚辰,庚戌,辛丑,辛未,壬申,癸酉

  • Resource stands for mother or older generation.  Resource star sits in your spouse palace means your spouse is like your mother nurturing and pampering you.  A Chinese saying goes “Marrying a mother-like wife or father-like husband” 娶妻像娘,嫁夫如父 .  This usually stands for a happy marriage.  It would be perfect If resource star is also favorable.  (Rating: Good)

4. Daymaster sitting on Shi-shen or Shang-guan (output star)

Day Pillars:  Jia-wu, Yi-si, Bing-chen, Bing-xu, Ji-you, Geng-zi, Xin-hai, Ren-yin and Gui-mao. 甲午,乙巳,丙辰,丙戌,己酉,庚子,辛亥,壬寅,癸卯

  • For male, output star nurtures wealth or wife star. So even output star is not the right star to sit in spouse palace, it still enhances wife star.  This situation will be good for strong male DM that favors wealth star (means a good marriage), but unfavorable for weak male DM (implying a disharmonious marriage). (Rating: OK)
  • For female, output star controls power or husband star. So not only output star is not the right star to sit in spouse palace, it further hurts husband star.  This usually means a less than satisfactory marriage if not jinxing the husband. (Rating: Bad)

5. Daymaster sitting on  Bi-jian or Jie-cai  (peer star)

Day Pillars:  Jia-yin, Yi-mao, Bing-wu, Ding-si, Wu-xu, Wu-chen, Ji-wei, Ji-chou, Geng-shen, Xin-you, Ren-zi and Gui-hai. 甲寅,乙卯,丙午,丁巳,戊戌,戊辰,己未,己丑,庚申,辛酉,壬子,癸亥

  • Peer star stands for competitions, friends and siblings which will “snatch” wealth away.  When it sits in the spouse palace, it means competition to take your spouse away if not jinxing the wife!
  • For male DM, with peer instead of wealth star inside spouse palace, it is the “sign” for wife being “snatched” away.  This means marital disharmony and affair. (Rating: Bad)
  • For female DM, with peer instead of wealth star inside spouse palace, it is the “sign” for husband being “snatched” away.  Wealth nurtures power (husband) in Bazi.  But peer “snatches” wealth away and weakens the husband.  This means marital disharmony and affair.  This also has a relatively higher divorce rate. (Rating: OK)

This is a quick-and-easy way to check one’s marital bliss.  A more accurate reading would be taking into consideration of other stars and not just the star inside the spouse palace.

Hi girls!  Today is your lucky day.  This article may save you from an abusive relationship or a trip to divorce court.  It shows you how to spot out a potential wife-jinxer/ beater using the birthday of your potential partner.

Wife-jinxer” here means this man will unlikely bring good life/ blessing to his wife.  He may jinx his wife to death and is a potential wife-beater.

To check your potential mate before developing a relationship, first of all, you need the birthday of the potential partner.  Then follow the instructions in the appendix here to find out the data required for making the decision.

After you have found the “daymaster” of your potential mate, match it with the following table:

For example, your potential partner is a Bing-fire daymaster.  You check his Bazi chart to see if there is any Ding-fire and/or Si-fire.  If there is one or more, check if there is any Ren-, Gui-, Zi– or Hai-water in the chart.  If you see NONE, you better stay away from this man.  But if you must have this man, consult a Bazi reader to see if this man has a special chart.  If so, then he could still be your potential partner.  The probability of someone has a special chart is about 20%.

What to do if this man does not have a special chart and you still want him? (beauty loves “bad boy” syndrome?)  Here is your last hope– check your own Bazi chart to see if you are a husband-jinxer (consult a Bazi reader or wait till I write about how to spot a husband-jinxer).  When a wife-jinxer and a husband-jinxer marry, the jinxes between them will be neutralized.

If unfortunately or fortunately that you are not a husband-jinxer, the last resort is to consult the courses below to mitigate the possible jinxes through Bazi and Feng Shui techniques (click link for details):

“Destiny/Luck Mgmt. 2: Basic Bazi Therapy w/18 hr. HD video
“Destiny/Luck Mgmt. 3 w/ Advanced Bazi Therapy w/18 hr. HD video

For people who want to know the logic behind this wife-jinxer Bazi, the answers are posted in my  Bazi/ 4P groups.   You may want to take my 4P/ Bazi courses listed below if you are not a member of my groups.  However, if you have basic Bazi knowledge, you may easily figure out the dynamics behind.  After you have figured out the wife-jinxer logic, husband-jinxer logic will pop up in your mind in no time.

APPENDIX:  How to find the day-master of your boy friend:

  1.   Log into http://bazi-calculator.com/
  2.   Type in his birthday
  3.   Click “Calculate” button
  4.   Check the “Day” column of the table in the left side
  5.  The example here shows a Wu-earth DM with Chou-earth (not good!), BUT there is a Yi-wood here to control earth, so this guy is “salvageable“.

The Year of Rooster will be finished soon.  People with Geng-metal Daymaster and/or rabbit sign in their charts will have a sigh of relief.

MUSICAL CHAIR TIME FOR YOUR FENG SHUI MONSTERS

2018 Year of Dog will start on February 4 @ 5:30 am.  Remember to move your Feng Shui monsters/ remedies before that time.  For example, if you forget to move your wealth-enhancing water fountain in the east, you may end up enhancing robbery and illicit affairs.  Read the following blog article if you need the data of exact locations:

http://kenlaifengshui.blogspot.com/2018/01/minimalist-feng-shui-for-2018.html

Do a house-cleaning/ cleansing on Feb. 3 if you have suffered misfortunes during 2017 Rooster year– to get rid of all unlucky energies.  But if you have a great year in 2017, you do not need to do the cleansing.  If you need help on how to do house-cleansing, read the following blog articles:

http://kenlaifengshui.blogspot.com/2011/12/church-bells-temple-bells-and-house.html

AUSPICIOUS SYMBOL FOR ATTRACTING WEALTH DURING NEW YEAR PERIOD

The inscription inside the symbol below means”attracting wealth and treasure“.  This symbol is also used in wealth-attracting talismans.  Click on the image to enlarge it and then hold “Ctrl” and “S” keys at the same time to save the image into your computer.  You can print a copy (prefer printing in red color) and put it in your wealth position of your house to attract wealth and treasure.  To “activate” this lucky symbol, simply do an act of kindness like feeding a homeless cat/ dog or donate something to charity.  This will get an “exchange” of energies started.

HAPPY AND PROSPEROUS

NEW YEAR OF DOG TO YOU!
